Hemp Is Happy!
Marijuana isn't the only type of Cannabis plant that can make you happy; Hemp seed will send you leaping for joy!
Contrary to popular belief, Hemp is not a drug. Although hemp is a member of the Cannabis plant family, it contains 0.00% of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol--the stuff that makes people high.) The reason why some people tend to get marijuana and hemp confused, however, is because Hemp and Marijuana are in the same plant family of the aforementioned Cannabis.
Because of all this unfortunate confusion between whether or not Hemp is a drug, it was banned from being grown in the U.S. in 1957. If U.S. manufacturers wish to use it in their food or products, it has to be imported from other countries, which uses up gas and costs a lot of money. However, two farmers in North Dakota were granted the first Hemp growing licenses in over fifty years in 2007, but that still hasn't really done much in the way of progress.
But why is it so important that Hemp be legalized and used in the U.S.? Well, the reason its, it's wonderful for the environment, not to mention for our bodies, as well!
Some of the first cars created by Henry Ford had parts that were made from Hemp; did you know Hemp fiber is actually stronger than steel, which is why concrete is also being made out of Hemp, as well? Hemp can also be made into paper, which is wonderful, because four-times the amount of paper made per acre from trees can be made per acre of Hemp. Clothing can also be made out of Hemp, which is good news, because while cotton takes tons and tons of pesticides to be grown, Hemp needs none o' that crap, and makes you just as comfy in yo' stylish threads!
Hemp is also glorious for your health, as well. It's packed with tons of Omega-6, which helps your brain function well, and makes up for potentially impaired fatty acid metabolism. It also has tons of Omega-3, which makes your skin clear and healthy, and also makes you happier! Now doesn't that sound nice!

So, as you can see, Hemp is a very important plant. That's why we must legalize it, and start making as many things as we can out of it, in place of cutting down so dog-gone many trees and using pollutants like plastic to build things.
Fun fact: America's "Founding Fathers" grew Hemp, and The Declaration Of Independence was even written on Hemp paper! Now ain't that special!
Obviously, George Washington would have wanted us to use Hemp. There was a bill introduced in the U.S. in 2005 to legalize Hemp farming, but as of now, no vote has taken place. YET. We need YOU! Advocate Hemp Legalization! Vote YES to Hemp!--Please, do it for the sake of our planet! ...And for George...
